Religion of Iraq:

The overwhelming number of inhabitants of Iraq (95 %) practises Islam and enters into communities imamits(almost all of them Arabs) and sunnits. Shiits make about half of all Moslems and prevail in the south. In other areas the majority make sunnits. The Christianity professes 3 % of the population.

The Iraq dinar is equal 20 dirham   (it is real these units practically are not used). In circulation there are banknotes face value in 25 000, 10 000, 5000, 1000, 500, 250 and 50 dirham, and also coins in 100 and 25 dirham.

Officially the foreign currency can be used in specialised duty-free shops of Bagdad, the passport should be thus shown, and the sum of single purchase should not exceed $200. However in practice US dollars, euro and currencies of neighbouring countries have almost unlimited circulation (hotels, for example, usually demand payment only in currency) in territory of Iraq.

To exchange currency for dinars and it is back possible only in the markets or in specialised exchange benches. Credit and debit cards for payment are not accepted. Cash dispenses does not exist. To cash trevel-checks also it is almost impossible.

Customs restrictions:

Import and currency export is limited, rules vary often, therefore before a trip it is recommended to consult in embassy. From the country it is authorised to take out with itself the personal things, handiworks and the goods bought in the country. Export of any antiques (including jewels, coins, manuscripts and other works of art) is forbidden. Transit of narcotic substances is forbidden and is severely punished.
