In Pnom-Penh the currency can be exchanged in banks or in numerous points of an exchange. Credit cards accept for payment only in banks and in the big hotels of capital and other big cities. In a province to cash them (as well as traveller’s cheques) it is almost impossible. The preference is given to credit cards and checks in US dollars. Cash dispenses are not present.

Customs restrictions:
Import and export of local currency are forbidden. The foreign currency can be exported in the limits declared in the customs declaration on arrival. The sum from above $10 000 is subject to obligatory declaring.
Duty-free import of tobacco, alcoholic drinks, subjects and things of personal use - within personal needs is resolved.
Import of the weapon, ammunition, drugs, poison gases, audio- and videorecordings, “causing a damage is forbidden a political system and spiritual traditions of the country”. Export of subjects of olden time, antiques and the ancient works of art which are national property, precious metals and stones in commodity quantities, and also wild animals and their stuffed animals is forbidden.
