In territory of modern Iraq the famous states of an antiquity prospered: the Sumer kingdom which has arisen about IV millenium BC, since III millenium to the middle of I millenium BC the territory was under the power of the Babylon and Assyrian kingdoms. With 539 for 331 BC Iraq was a part of the Persian kingdom, and then within 200 years was a part of empire of Alexander the Great. During long time for territories of the country the Persian dynasties corrected, and in VII century d.C. Arabs have come to the country. With 750 for 1258 Bagdad was capital of the state of caliphs Abbasidov. In 1258 the country has been ruined by the Mongolian aggressors, and during long time for possession it Turkish and Iranian governors argued. In XVII century Iraq definitively was a part of Ottomansky empire. In the end XIX - the beginning of XX centuries in Iraq movement for clearing of Turkish sovereignty was issued. Great Britain which had in this locale the interests, actively helped Iraq. In August, 1921 Iraq has received independence then king Fezal I has been selected.

Till 1932 Great Britain had the mandate on handle of Iraq through the commissioner. In February, 1958 the Arabian Union of Iraq and Jordan has been derivated, however on July, 14th, 1958 as a result of a bloody military coup d’etat the monarchy was ñâåðãíóòà, the king is killed, and the Arabian Union has broken up. On July, 15th in Iraq the republic has been proclaimed. From this point on the country has endured some more military coup d’etats. As a result of last from them to the power the present president of Iraq Saddam Hussein has come. Occupation of Kuwait was one of the last international crises called by a policy of Iraq in locale: on August, 28th, 1990 Iraq has declared Kuwait the 19th province and has entered there the armies. The international community led by the USA has organised operation on clearing of Kuwait, and in the end of February, 1991 the Iraq armies have been output from the country.
