History of Indonesia
Vc. – occurrence of the first states: Taruma – on island Java and Malaju – on island Sumatra. Induistsky and Buddhist civilisations have reached Indonesia almost 2000 years ago and have especially magnificently blossomed on Java. By VII century on islands, basically in coastal regions, there were some the small states which are engaged in trade. These the induistsko-Buddhist-skie of empire and kingdom have existed till the end of XIII century when on islands Islam which has especially got stronger after occurrence Ma-Lakksky sultanat in the beginning of XV century has come. Portugueses who in the XVII-th century beginning were gradually superseded by Dutches were the first Europeans in XVI century. By 1750 Dutches colonized island Java, however other islands making modern Indonesia Holland only to the XX-th century beginning when the country was issued for the first time in the uniform state have been subordinated. After the Japanese occupation of 1942-1945 nationalists led by Sukarno have proclaimed, independence of the country, however still almost 5 years Holland waged war with nationalists while on December, 27th, 1949 did not recognise independence of Indonesia. In 1967 to the power in the country general Suharto who is constantly re-elected since then on a post of the president has come. Indonesia is a member of the United Nations and all specialised agencies of this organisation, the OPEC.
