History of El Salvador
With Õ till XII century El Salvador was a part of powerful empire maja, and later - empires of Aztecs. In the middle of XVI century El Salvador has been colonized by Spaniards and there was a part of a colony Guatemala. In 1823 El Salvador became a part of the Connected provinces of Central America (together with Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica). On January, 1st, 1841 El Salvador has received full independence. Long time the country was astable politically, and recently against military dictatorship the armed struggle which has ended in 1992 with signing of the peace agreement was conducted. El Salvador is a member of the United Nations, IMF, the CART, the SQUANDERER, the Organizations of the American states.
