History of Burundi
Till XVc. – the country was occupied by tribes of pygmies.XVc. – intrusion of the Ethiopian tribes from the north.Hutu have appeared in XIV century, having assimilated the most part òâà. In XV century after arrival òóòñè the kingdom similar to kingdom tutsy in Ruanda has been created. However the exclusive system in Burundi was not such strict: marriages between tutsy and hutu were frequent, õóòó used the big economic freedom.XVIIIc. – there was an independent feudal state Burundi.1825 – 1852 – blossoming of the country during board of king Ntare II, acquisition of modern borders.1899ã. – in capital the German military post is founded.In 80th years of XIX century of Burundi (at that time Urundi) together with Ruanda has been occupied by Germany and in 1903 is switched on in structure of the German East Africa1919ã. – after defeat of Germany in I world war management over territory of Burundi has passed to Belgium (Belgian mandated territory).On July, 1st, 1962 Burundi has received independence as constitutional monarchy.In 1966 after a military coup d’etat the country has been proclaimed by republic. In 90th years in the country interethnic collisions between hutu and tutsy have begun. Burundi is a member of the United Nations, IMF, the CART, the Organizations of the African unity.
