History of Burkina Faso

This small and very poor country of Africa, till August, 4th, 1984 named by Upper Volta, (since August, 5th I960) has worried about years of independence 12 revolutions and two revolutions. There is Burkina Faso in the heart of the Western Africa. The central position does by its crossroads of land links and air means of communication, allowing to play an appreciable role in the Interafrican links. The history of Burkina Faso is closely linked to history of the ancient state — kingdoms Of mine. In 1919 the territory has been renamed into the French Western Africa which in 1932 has been divided between the French Sudan and Kot-D Ivuar. In 1947 Upper Volta has received the territory status under the name, in 1958 has found the right to self-management, and in 1960 became independent. The country has received the present name after revolution of 1984.
