History of Belarus

In 7–6 centuries BC from the south on territory of present Belarus representatives cultures (ancient slavic group) have moved. In 1 century BC there were representatives of other slavic group —zarubenec cultures. Slavic tribes dregs, radmiches and kriveches eventually assimilated Baltic which lived to them on this earth. To 9 century of the earth Polotsk, Turovo-Pinsky, Smolensk, etc. princedoms became a part of the Old Russian state. The Lithuanian period. After mongolo-tatar invasion 1237–1240 Belarus earths were captured by Grand duchy Lithuanian, concluding the unions with local feudal lords-land owners against the common enemies — mongolo-Tatars in the east and Teutonic knights in the west. About 14 century in Teutonic chronicles there is a term «White Russia», and local tribes step-by-step unite in a uniform nationality. In 1386 grand duke Lithuanian became the Polish king and, thus, the governor of the huge state including the Baltic and slavic people. The Belarus language was state and a diplomatic language of Lithuania up to 1569 when Lithuania has united with Poland in the uniform state — Rech Pospolituju.The Polish period. Óíèÿ Poland and Lithuania has caused strengthening of the Polish influence in the Belarus earths. Have varied both church, and secular public institutes. The orthodox church representing the main religion in Belarus, Brest óíèåé 1596 has been transformed in óíèàòñêóþ, has saved the Byzantian ritual of the church service, but has accepted Catholic doctrines and the power of the daddy. The Polish influence has appeared and in social and economic sphere as the communal landed property of Byelorussians has been substituted by individual possession of the earth, and peasants have been enslaved. Elite of noble family has fast accepted the Polish language, the Polish culture and Catholic belief. Peasants and city common people have saved the Belarus language and culture and fidelity Uniat churches. Speech of Pospolitaja has reached a pica of the power in the beginning 17 century when its earths were stretched from Baltic to Black sea, and the Moscow Russia has accepted on an imperial throne of Polish king’s son Vladislav. Next one and a half centuries have passed in this locale under the badge of wars between Russia, Poland and Sweden. Especially destructive were the Russian-Polish war for the Ukrainian earths (1654–1667) and Northern war (1700–1721) between Russia and Sweden for an output to Baltic sea. As a result of violence, hunger and illnesses in these wars has perished about half of population of Belarus.
