History of Bangladesh

As a part of the British India the earths modern Bangladesh (then east Bengal) have turned to area of export of jute carrying on in the world. Its fibre was processed at firms of Calcutta and its vicinities and taken out on foreign markets through Kalkuttsky port. When in 1947 English domination in this locale has stopped, there was a section to mainly Hindu India and mainly Muslim Pakistan. East Bengal was a part of Pakistan, being is isolated from its western part of the Indian territory of 1600 km where there was Calcutta. It has deprived a new province of former economic centre. During the period between 1947 and 1961 economy of East Pakistan was in a stagnation state. Bengaleses have not been presented in the high-grade image in the Pakistan army, parliament and the central machinery of state, and the government put the main resources in economic development of the western provinces. Except building of jute factories, mainly on resources of investors from the western part of the country, in the industry of East Pakistan it was difficult to detect other positive shifts. The province population grew faster, than rice production increased, and it was necessary to expand foodstuffs import. Though jute was the main source of currency for all country, east province essentially lagged behind on a standard of living the Western Pakistan. At the head of national-liberation movement in the late sixties — the beginning of 1970th years there was Sheikh Mudzhibur Rahman, the head of party Avami of the leagues which have appeared on March, 26th 1971 with declaration on creation of the independent state Bangladesh. After civil war in which India has supported risen, on December, 16th 1971 Pakistan governmental armies have surrendered that was a solving victory on path of formation of the new state. In January of 1972 Mudzhibur Rahman has returned from exile and has held a post of the prime minister Bangladesh.
