On Bahrain archeologists have found out traces of stay of the Paleolithic person. In III millenium BC the developed civilisation for which the strengthened settlements were characteristic there has been extended. From 1861 islands were under the British protectorate. Bahrain has found full independence in 1971. In the early eighties Iran has renewed old claims for the sovereignty over archipelago. In reply to the Iranian and Iraq attempts to establish hegemony in a zone of Persian gulf Bahrain together with Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar have formed in 1981 Council of cooperation of Gulf States. Bahrain has a good-neighbourhood almost with all states Arabian p-ova, except Qatar. These countries declare the rights to the island of Havar located near of the western coast of Qatar and passed Bahrain by the decision of the government of Great Britain when both countries were under its protectorate. In November 1994 Qatar has unilaterally addressed in the International court, however a question till now remains unresolved and is an intensity source in relations between these countries. Bahrain supports presence from 1949 armed forces of the USA around Persian gulf and creation of Middle Eastern operative naval connection. 5th Navy fleet of the USA uses Bahrain as a basis in a zone of Persian gulf. After intrusion into Kuwait and its occupation by the Iraq army in August 1990 government of Bahrain has allowed to be based to the American military-air forces on territory of the country. According to the contract between Bahrain and the USA about cooperation in the field of defence are spent joint military doctrines, deliveries of the American arms in case of a sharp aggravation of political conditions in region are provided.
