The origin of Andorra is lost in a history jungle. Possibly, it was one of the buffer states created by Charles the Great for protection of Christian France from Arabs. By Charles the Great tradition consider as the state founder, and his son Louis Blagochestivyj granted to inhabitants of Andorra the Great Charter of freedom (Magna Carta). The country has received the original form of “independence” as a result of the contentions which have arisen in 13 century between the Spanish bishop Urzhelsky and French count Fua which in 1278 have signed the contract (“Act-pareazh”). According to this contract, over Andorra it was installed double suzerenitet graphs of Fua and bishops. This contract operates till now. Successors of the bishop and until now are, and the rights of graphs of Fua have passed at first to king Navarry, then to the king of France, and later – to its president. During the French revolution Andorra became independent because the new government of France has abolished all former acts, but in 1806 at Napoleon àíäîððöû have accessed to it with the petition about restoring the Act-pareazha. Napoleon has agreed, having noticed that «Andorra – the political funny thing which is necessary for saving», and has proclaimed its constitutional republic.
