History of American Samoa
American Samoa in 1920 is transferred under control of New Zealand.Since 1962 — the independent state of a Western Samoa.Till 1951 of Eastern Samoa coped Naval Forces of the USA.In 1948 self-management elements are entered.
With closing of naval base in Pago Pago the territory is transferred under control of Department of the internal affairs appointing governors for American Samoa.
In 1960 the first constitution of territory is accepted.In 1977 have passed the first elections of the governor. Geographical position: Possession of the USA is located on islands in a southern part of Pacific ocean, consisting of two large islands Savaiis and Upolu and seven small.
