Economy of Cambodia
The European name “Cambodia” represents the deformed variant of a word “Kambudzha” — Hindu Kambu derivative of a name, a mythical primogenitor khmer, or the Cambodian people. The Indian culture has got into Cambodia through empire Funan (2-6 centuries d.C.) which capital settled down within a present province of Prejveng in the bottom current of Mekong. In 8 century this empire has been absorbed by the khmer state Chenla which territory settled down in pool of an average current of Mekong. After disintegration of Chenly around the lake Tonle Sap there was the new khmer kingdom based by the khmer prince, Dzhajavarman which have accepted a name II. From 802 Dzhajavarman II отождествляляся the citizens with индуистским god Shivoj also became object of a cult the maiden-radzha, i.e. “God-king”. By the end 9 century have been constructed the first capital settlement Angkor in which centre the freakish temples symbolising worship to “God-king” towered. Highest level of the state development khmers have reached during the period with 10 for 14 century when they had been created outstanding monuments of architecture. Most as a vivid example of such constructions 12 century erected in first half temple ensemble of Angkorvoat (which ruins managed to be rescued in the middle of 19 century from a coming rainforest) serve. To the middle 15 century khmers have left the capital Angkorthom, and then have accepted the Buddhism. When in the end of 16 century the first Europeans have started to arrive to region, the khmer state as a result of the century conflict has already got the status of the vassal of Siamese empire. In 17-18 century Vietnam annexed a considerable part of east and southern Cambodia in which during this period it has appeared at once two kings: one of them supported вьеты, another — thaw (Siameses). King Norodom inheriting in 1860 Cambodian throne had no sufficient possibilities to get rid of dependence on Siam, and thus felt constant threat from outside the Frenchmen who have won by then Kohinhinu (the European name of a southern part of Vietnam). In 1863 monarch has been compelled to agree for transformation of kingdom into protectorate of France. Signed in 1884 contract has essentially narrowed a circle of powers of the king of Cambodia and provided stay in the country of the French residents-managers. In 1887 Cambodia was a part of Frantsuzsky Indoki colony
